How markup calculator works
A markup calculator adds a percentage on top of your cost price to work out the selling price. Selling price equals cost price plus (cost price multiplied by markup percentage).
Things to keep in mind
- Markup is based on cost price, not selling price
- Different from profit margin, which uses selling price as the base
- Does not account for taxes, discounts or shipping costs
- A higher markup does not always mean higher profit if sales drop
